Food
The Catering and Domestic Department produces a wide range of high quality meals for breakfast, lunch and supper. Pupils and staff dine in a wonderfully light and airy self-service Refectory. As befits a Quaker School, there is no separate staff dining room.
Daily selections include a minimum of two hot main course options together with a vegetarian choice, a large salad bar with cold meats and quiches, jacket potatoes and a soup of the day. We also offer organic breakfast cereals, complimented with organic milk, cheese and yoghurts.
Foods are sourced from local suppliers wherever possible, which ensures that our ingredients are of the highest quality. We are constantly increasing our organic range, which in addition to dairy products, also consists of organic fruit, vegetables and some organic bread. Sidcot has been awarded the North Somerset food award for many years and are members of the Healthy Schools Scheme.
Special events in the school calendar are celebrated; our Chinese pupils prepare a Chinese New Year meal (under supervision!) and pupils of other nationalities can contribute to themed meals too. Other school functions include the Christmas Dance, Sixth Form events, Valentines Dance, Summer Garden Party and formal House meals.
