We are delighted to announce the arrival of our very first outdoor Sculpture installation by Fiona Campbell.

Fiona lives and works in Somerset. She graduated with distinction in Fine Art and Sculpture from the Byam Shaw School of Art, London, later gaining a PGCE at Exeter University.

Her work reflects an interest in our relationship with the natural world, nature’s cyclical persistence, vitalism and the essence of life. Fiona creates mixed media sculptures wrought as primal, linear, nest-like structures often in an apparent state of emergence, growth or metamorphosis. A mix of delicate and strong, earthy and ethereal, they are often an extension of her drawings.

The pieces can be seen at the front entrance to the Arts Centre at any time and will remain in place until the end of July 2014. More of Fiona’s Sculptures will also appear in the ‘Of Form & Texture’ exhibition opening on 22 March.

Diane Burnell (painting) | Fiona Campbell (sculpture) | Sara Parsons (sculpture and mixed media) | Laura Howarth (mixed media) | Debbie Lamb (ceramic sculpture).

This show gathers new expressions of old art forms - painting and sculpture. Fresh perspectives of age-old concerns, from the beginning of existence itself (Burnell's 'Big Bang'-inspired paintings), the limitations and possibilities of the human form (Lamb's casts of torsos), the strange, changing world we inhabit (Campbell's mixed media sculptures), and exploration of surface (Howarth’s molded paperworks).
