Riding

Students of any age are able to take riding lessons at the school's very own Riding Stables, which include seven stables, ten school horses and an outdoor schooling arena. Students have the opportunity to hack in the nearby countryside and ride in the numerous fields around the stables.
Boarding students may bring their own horse into school on full or working livery and day scholars also have this opportunity. There is limited space, however, and boarders are given precedence. Whilst riding and studying at Sidcot, students are able to work in the stable yard as a stable hand.
Horse Owner's Certificates are available to all students whether or not they own a horse. For the purposes of the certificate, students will be classified as 'horse owners'.
Horse Owner's Certificates are offered at four levels of knowledge, with regard to the care and management of the horse, and are specifically aimed at the horse owner.
