Drama

Drama has always been an important element of life at Sidcot. Our pupils enjoy being involved at every level whether it be acting, set designing, lighting and sound, costume or make up. The school stages three productions a year, one of which is always a musical on a big scale. Recent examples have been 'Antigone', 'Lord of the Flies' and 'The Pirates of Penzance'.
Pupils also take part in individual drama lessons leading to LAMDA (London Academy of Dramatic Arts) and we have recently set up a European Theatre Group to explore drama in languages other than English.
Drama is centred in the Drama Studio and Quaker Meeting House Theatre. We are very much looking forward to our new facilities within the new Arts Block which we hope will open by Autumn 2008.
Several Old Scholars are currently making names for themselves in acting and production.
