Competitive sports are played at Sidcot in a spirit of sportsmanship. Sport is seen as one of the many possible areas of personal development. We all like to win, but it is more important to play well and fairly. The sports facilities and staff at Sidcot ensure that each pupil can improve personal performances.

GCSE

sportIn Lower Fifth and Upper Fifth pupils may take GCSE Physical Education or Games

During the courses, students focus on their planning, performance and evaluation of physical activities or games. They will broaden their skills and understanding of a range of physical activities or games whilst learning about the human body in relation to movement and exercise.

A Level

The OCR A Level Physical Education course covers a wide range of disciplines, with the focal point being the performer and the performance.  It is an ideal course for anyone interested in Physical Education, either as a career or for improving sporting ability and for those interested in the body and its uses and limitations.  The whole course is underpinned by practical work.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate their understanding of the following areas:
