English & Humanities

An understanding of the world around you and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of people are essential skills for Sidcot students.
Our children are part of a world community and they need to know what has shaped their world, to be able to interact with individuals whatever their race or social / economic background.
The department staff are all specialists in their field and share the aim to get children thinking for themselves, rather than just accepting the given society and global ‘status quo’, a concept that will change out of all recognition in their lifetimes. We have to give them the capabilities not just to cope with change but also to flourish in changing circumstances.
